The Power Suply In The World's Tallest Data Center

Data Centers, a large group of networked computer servers typically used by organizations for the remote storage, processing, or distribution of large amounts of data, are usually three floors facilities. The Intergate Manhattan however, built by Sabey Data Center company, located in New York City, with 13 colocation data centers floors is de facto, the World’s Tallest Data Center. How power is provided to such an incredible facility?
The power supply of this amazing building (which can contain a total of 24 generators) is assured by 4 CAT C175 generators sets (of 3MW capacity each). But their settlement in the data center was quite challenging. During the data center construction, these generators were picked up from a loading dock and brought up to their assigned floor via a crane. Then, they were settled into their final position thanks to the strength of 20 people.
Moreover, their reliability according to Mike Bosco, Director of Operations of New York Sabey Data Center Properties, is not questionable. For instance, they proved their quality during two major catastrophes in New York which are the Hurricane Sandy (that occurred on October 29-30, 2012), and a Black Out in New York City when the Intergate Manhattan Data Center was the only operational building in New York City. How amazing isn’t?
